Alabama, meet Iran
Alabama and Iran have about the same degree of religious belief. And there is almost a direct inverse relationship between religious belief and standard of living.
Like the character from Orwell's book, I feel I must write to spite our modern Big Brother era of dumbed down, conspicuous consumption driven masses and the government that has lashed the wheel of our cultural ship to this course.
